Away from the slopes
Pleasurable days and nights
Away from skiing & co.
Anyone wishing to experience Zell am See in winter doesn’t have to do so on skis. Even away from the slopes there are lots of opportunities to enjoy an individual and relaxing winter holiday in Zell am See.
Set off on a winter hike, put on your skates and leave your tracks on the frozen Lake Zell or take on the locals in a game of curling. There are also plenty of slopes for tobogganing and bobsleigh riding for children.
Tradition and winter magic
Winter in Zell am See is also a time for tradition; around Advent in particular there is a great deal to see and enjoy. More than 100 typical scenes from the nativity are displayed as part of the “Kripperlroas”. The magical Christmas market offers traditional crafts, old Christmas traditions and food and drink (e.g. Pinzgau dumplings and mulled wine), while the whole town is lit up with festive lights. Young and old visitors alike look forward to the arrival of Father Christmas.
Anyone wanting to enjoy a night out after a day on the slopes will not be disappointed in Zell am See: there are several bars, pubs and clubs to enjoy. Good music and like-minded people create a party atmosphere. And before you realise it, you’ll be able to watch the morning sun rising up from behind the mountains...
